L'épopée du retour

Quand même, avant de se remettre en route vers chez nous, tempête ou pas tempête, un bain dans les sources chaudes s'impose. A Hella, notre hôtel a installé des thermes dans des sortes de tonneaux en bois à l'extérieur où il doit faire ... A peu près ... 0 degrés. Les quelques (froids) mètres qui séparent les douches des bains dans un vent glacial sont plutôt revigorants.

Before going back home, no matter what about the snow storms, we need to bathe in hot springs. Our hotel in Hella has outside hot pots in giant wooden barrels, the air temperature about 0 degrees making the way from the showers to the baths veeryyyy cold.

Ensuite, c'est là que la partie marrante commence ... A cause du fichu snow storm, on met environ 5 heures à parcourir les 40 kilomètres qui nous séparent de la capitale. And then the funny part starts... With this f*** snow storm, it takes us 5 hours to drive about 40 kilometers and reach Reykjavik.

Quand la visibilité est bonne, ça donne ça :-) L'Islande reste hostile et ne se livre pas au premier venu ! N'empêche, ça donne envie d'y retourner pour découvrir le reste. En été !! When visibility is good, here is how the road looks like. I still think about Iceland as an hostile country, it does not give itself too easily. It makes me want even more to go back and discover the northern part of the island... In summer ;-)
